Using FiregroundScribe

Live feed

Every transmission appears as it's recorded, with its transcript a few seconds later. Each card shows the channel, the unit (from your radio aliases), and badges for emergency button presses and words the speech engine was unsure of. Use Listen live to hear a source, and Instant recall (Reliability pack) to replay the last minutes of any source, even traffic that wasn't cut into transmissions.

Incidents

Transmissions are grouped into incidents automatically. An incident page has:

  • the timeline: dispatch, arrival, water on the fire, primary search, under control, PAR, MAYDAY and emergency traffic, each linked to the transmission it came from;
  • units heard, and your notes and bookmarks;
  • recording gaps, so you know if any part wasn't recorded;
  • playback tools: speed, voice filter and volume boost.

Officers can correct transcripts, confirm or reject detected events, and add events the system missed. Every change is logged.

If a clip is taking too long to transcribe (a long stretch of noise, say), choose Cancel next to its transcribing or queued badge. The audio is kept; ⋯ → Transcribe again transcribes it later. Admins can cancel everything waiting at once under Admin → System status → Cancel all waiting transcriptions.

Live AI size-up

With Manager → Settings → AI size-up → Live size-up set (for example to 5 minutes), the AI size-up of an incident that's still open is rewritten every few minutes when there's new radio traffic, so whoever follows it from the station or a command post sees a current narrative, units and hazards. It's a summary of what was said, may be wrong, and is never a substitute for listening or for the incident commander.

Training replay

Replay on an incident plays its radio traffic back as it happened, for training classes and after-action reviews: the clock runs, and transcripts, detected events and notes appear at their time. Pause, play at 1.5× or 2×, skip the silences between transmissions, jump to any moment on the slider, and add an instructor's Note here at the current moment (it's saved on the incident's timeline).

Review queue

Review lists events and transcripts that need a person's eyes, newest first. Working through it keeps your reports accurate.

Reports

  • Trends: response benchmarks over time, with your own targets.
  • Compliance: how often each benchmark met its target, by month.
  • Monthly and annual chief's reports: emailed automatically if you like.
  • After-action report: a printable report for one incident.
  • Recording gaps: every period a source wasn't recording.

Search and export

Search every transcript by word and channel; Filters on the Live feed narrows it to a unit (who talked, or who was named on the air: typing "E1" also finds "Engine 1"), a date range, or only emergency-button presses, MAYDAYs and other urgent events. Export incidents to CSV or NFIRS-ready JSON, or set up scheduled exports to a folder or SFTP server for your RMS.

Privacy

EMS channels are hidden from people without permission to see them, and their content is never sent anywhere. Admins choose who can export, and the activity log records who viewed and exported what.
